Default Airbag Light

I have an airbag indicator light and a readout shows that the control module is basically 99% dead. Anyone have any experience in changing the control module or if perhaps finding out if its just a loose wire or something?

What year?

I think the newer models are controlled by the ECM.

It could be that one of the connectors has come loose or broken from one of the air bags.

What code did you get?

I can't tell you the exact code because I already threw out my readout ( I know a audi tech that scans me for free and helps with diagnosing problems and such). Its a 2001 a6, I found a DIY for the module but it requires that I remove the stereo. Any idea where to get those little tools for removing the stereo unit?

I paid $4.50 including shipping for set off ebay. came in about a week. Not real fancy but honestly they don't need to be.

"Air Bag" is a German word that means Big German Woman -- if you translate it to English it means "leave it alone unless you know what your doing cause like a Big German Woman it can make your life painful if you don't handle it correctly."
