"the switch for turning off if you have a pet in the car is no good" do you mean the switch itself does not work, or turning off the motion sensor doesn't seem to change the outcome. If the switch doesn't work and you have access to a vag-com you can change the interior motion sensor sensitivity. I have to do this, because if it is windy out and I leave a window/sunroof open my alarm goes off sometimes.

If it is just going off randomly and turning off the motion sensor has no affect, get your hands on a vag-com if you don't have one and read the codes. It will tell you why the alarm went off.

Do you leave any of the windows or sunroof open? if so, shut off the interior sensor.

You can also Vag-com the alarm to be less sensitive.

You need....
A ODBII cable either USB or serial
A computer (laptop is best)
Software, you should pay for it, the shareware sucks.
