Default Any Knowledgeable Input Welcome.. Need help

First off, I'd like to apologize for in advance for asking such noob questions, but I am actually looking at purchasing a 1995 A6 in the near future. What I am curious about, however, is the reliability/durability of these vehicles. The 95 C4 has 140K miles, and I was wondering if these cars take well to higher mileage. Is there anything that I should specifically look out for when I'm surveying this car? Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

service history being the most important and have a mechanic check it out for you ( get as much information on the car as you can before you part with your cash )

^^^+1 the service history is most important, as far as mileage if the oil has been changed at a good interval 140k really isn't that much on the clock for an audi engine, about the same amount of wear as a chevy engine at 30 thousand miles, if the oil was changed frequently of course.....

Given a good service history, 140k isn't too bad? How long are these engines known to last for? (With routine maintenance and oil changes)

Depends on the engine, the inline 5 cylinder turbo engines have been known to go over 500k and still pulls pretty well. The V6 engines usually go about 250-300k before a major overhaul is needed. Only if you change the oil frequently of course.
