One for the tech's and the knowledgeable: Non Linear steering?
Hi guys I was researching my car (2000 Audi A6 2.7T) and read a review on Edmunds.com that noted one of the draw backs to the car being non linear steering. I was also talking to a friend who is a former Nissan master mechanic and now owns a 2004 s-line. He said there is a compensation built into the steering for talk steer. Can anyone shed some light on if this is true and what exactly non linear steering is.
Also does anyone know if the other models in the C5 lineup were also equipped with non linear steering? This may help to explain why the angle of my steering wheel is affected by road camber even on what appears to be a straight road

Why is that considered a draw back? It's mostly for safety and stuff, and it's not like it's all that noticeable. I think it talks about it in the owners manual even, here's a few links:

It's based off of a relay and i think there's a DIY to put a switch on it to control when it is on/off, but i don't know if it applies to a 2000 or not. What do you want to know exactly?
