i have 2 a6's in need of upper control arms. labor is 300 for each car with free alignment.

i looked through some websites and found these. a guy posted something about these same arms over at audi zine and they seemed to be impressed.

has anyone tried these out? do they wear out quick? since i only got 59k off my oem im not expecting these to go too high as it seems to be a common failure in the c5 chasis.

 

yep, mine lasted 25k. 2 failed within 6 months and were warrantied and replaced. To say they are JUNK is an understatement.

 

did they cover the labor for taking the old ones off?

 

We installed them ourselves. But parts warranties never cover labor.

 

i use FCP quite a bit. for my a4 2.8, s4 4.2, and now a6 4.2. Service are good, parts quality is ok for the price. If u install them PROPERLY. it'll last 40k km without problem. But if the installation was not properlly, 2-3 month whatever brand or OEM audi will fail again. As these arms intend to fail around 40-50k in good road condition, and 20-30k in bad road condition like Toronto, ON, canada. I would like just go cheap, and change them regularly. For the whole set, I can finish in about 4hours now.
