I am trying to do this scan method from 12v.org

I just tried it and it will not produce anything... I may have to try the test light method.

Have you guys ever tried to get codes this way?

 

I now have a VAG-COM so it has been a while since I used the blink code method but i have used it in the past. The trick is learning how to read it properly, the blinking is rather slow so have patience. And you will always get a 2111 error if the engine is not running because there is no engine speed sensor signal. I did not use a test light, I just used the check engine light.

 

Yeah I could not get it to blink at all. I can start the car so I had it running and used a paperclip to short it. Hmmm I will have to try it again and see if it will produce something for me.

 

I was able to get a code and it is 2141.. knock sensor control 1

Any suggestions how to proceed?
