Wondering why the "no supercharger" comment too? I had a 1990 VW Corrado G60, and once I had the supercharger rebuilt, and all the boost leaks fixed, it was a fun powertrain. For some reason, at stoplights, that car seemed to attract kids in big wheel CRX's and Civics :-/

well i jus had a bigggggg *** talk with a german sports guy n he said tht theres superchargers for my car for bout 1200 dollars n i would get 0-60 n half the time i do it now doublew my hp n torque...so i guess wat im looking to do now is supercharging it ...o n i took some guys advice off of youtube to cut the middle resonators out n put straight pipes n i did tht bu t guess wat it sounds lyk a effing rice...so is there a way to change tht sound lyk deaper n take all the crackling away...

p.s. do not have the stock resonator anymore ...

Non resonated FTW! They ruin sound IMO.

But yeah, cherry bombs would quiet it.

Yeah, I agree that headers are a must when your building for major power, but its worthless on these.

A guy with a FWD 5spd Passat, PES G2, tune, Supersprint headers and full exhaust, put down like 260. Now, that blower is 3.5k if you find one on ebay, headers 1500, exhaust like 3k, tune???, a stupid amount of moneys for a car thats still not "fast". Buy a 2.7, chip it, and get the same effect! For less than half!

PS, for example, what could you do with your 2.7 for ~8 grand It would be fast as ****, probable have GTs for that $$

And you will NOT cut your 0-60 in half. If your in the 7s now, you really think youll be in the 3s!!! NO. Hook me up with this guy, I want his drugs :P

 

i concur. i brief search of cardomain didn't turn up a single 2.8 A6 under 6.5. a few 2.7t's in the 4's however. with a PES supercharger, exhaust and a custom GIAC flash, you'll be in the low 5's i'd say.

FWIW i wouldn't drop the cash on forced induction for your 2.8. intake, exhaust and chip it and enjoy a nice ride that gets compliments. not every car has the potential we'd like it to have. i had to come to grips with that on my 98 grand prix GT. after dropping $4k on a motor swap, i still wasn't happy. if you're serious about building an A6, you almost have to get a V8 or a 2.7T.

dude, you have to ask questions you don't know the answers to. it's how you learn. i'd think you were stupid if you didn't ask questions, went ahead and bought $5k worth of stuff that's really not going to benefit you, then came and asked why you're car wasn't a 10sec car.. asking questions isn't going to make anyone think less of you. sure you'll get the smart-*** from time to time who gives you a hard time, but they are just trying to make themselves feel better.. ask away.

Part of that is because its a 98 car. They have different gearing. OCs car is GIAC'd, with magnaflow, K&N, runs 8-9 sec. However it still sounds slow for a 95hp boost. Should be about 7 flat.

01 got the better gearing, alows close to 7 secs with exhaust. IMHO, a PES on an 01 would get you to 60 in the mid to low 6s. If your very lucky, a high 5.

And nah, not stupid, just not educated in audi terms quite yet. Post vids of it now, I cant imagine one of these engines sounding bad. They always sound great!
