Default what i would do

CAI, GIAC, headers, DP's, Cat back exhaust. if you are bent on forced induction, find a supercharger kit (i'm not sure why you were originally opposed to one). if the condition of the car itself would prevent sale, or you have some sentimental value, you could find a 2.7t drivetrain. but take it from a guy with drivetrain swap experience.. in the end, you'll wish you'd have just bit the bullet and bought a native 2.7t

^ Hahahaha, headers. Those are rare'er than, well, almost everything. Supersprint makes a pair, $1500 dollars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Screw that, for maybe 5 hp. And havent found a set of DPs for a 2.8 yet either..

you might be right about availability. i have a 2.7 so that's all i look for. but if you're looking at it strictly by the 10hp increase that part makes on an otherwise stock setup, then you are looking at it backwards. headers are a cornerstone, a building block if you will, for supporting massive horsepower. aside from that, it is a multiplier. allowing unrestricted, smoother airflow is going to boost the performance benefit of an air intake, an exhaust, an upgraded fuel system, and allow additional performance related mods to the flash (air/fuel mixture, tps, advance to name just a couple) which could yield an additional 5-15hp at the crank.

while i will concede that headers might be a bit extreme for what he is going to do, i did said it's what i would do.
