Hi Guys,

A short and hopefully easy one for the specialists
I have a Audi A6 from 2005, and I took the BOSE SURROUND SOUNDSYSTEM.

I would like to know whether it supports DTS?

Reason being that I'd like to get myself a CD from there

Which plays in 5.1 DTS. Obviously I'd like to experience the full 5.1 stuff, but I have absolutely no idea and I can't find that anywhere...

I'm not positive but I'm pretty sure it would work. You could call a stereo place and ask them to be 100% sure.

 

no, you cant do 5.1 as is. if theres no center channel, youll be in 4.1 now if there is or you add it, you still wont. youll need a dvd player that can process it with its brain box or a built in processor, only then will you have DTS 5.1 for movies in the car

There's the 'digital 5.1 processing', 'center channel', etc....

I just don't see any DTS info.

Also you say I need a DVD player.. that's possible, and that's also how I imagine the stuff.
But it seems that there are also CD capable of containg 5.1 audio data, and/or DTS. You can find that on the net easilly, and on http://www.dts.com/entertainment/cat...c=692860114029 it seems like they have some.

Now what you say is true, the processor is what's needed. I really doubt there is one inside the cd player they put... but who knows.
I remember the guy at the AUDI shop telling me I could put special cd's (but what did he mean by 'special'???) in it and that would work.

That's why I'm confused as hell.
It's so unclear.
