Default Brake Pad Question

New to this forum.
Wife has 2000 A-6 Quatro.
I am wondering what manufacturer's brake pads are best for front and rear wheels of this daily driver that is not autocroosed or raced. Also where is best place to buy?
Do you recommend KleenWheels to keep brake dust off the wheels?
I am detailing wheels every Saturday and getting tired of it
Thank you,
Kurt

Default RE: Brake Pad Question

My oem brakes were a dust nightmare. I now have PBR Ultimate Ceramic pads with plan old Brembo rotors. I love them, I have used this combo for years on our Volvo's and Bmw's. They do not need to warm up to work well, they have the best bite of any pads I have ever used. The PBR pads do dust, but nothing like the oem pads. I have to clean my wheels maybe once a month vs the once a week I should have cleaned them. I bought almost all my brake parts from www.getcoolparts.com. I have not heard good things about KleenWheels, but I have never used them so I have no suggestion.

Default RE: Brake Pad Question

Are the ceramic pads OK to use with the stock rotors or will they chew them up faster?

The ceramic pads will "eat up" the rotor faster, however, they are definately the best stopping power according to most everyone that I have talked to. They are also some of the better pads when trying to elimate the everlooming dust issue.
