Default Brake Question

Ok.. seeing that I have driven a 1990 CQ for many years... when I went to get parts.. I knew that I was getting the right things as the car was very specific. Looking at brakes for my 2001 A6Q 2.8... I must have a memory lapse or something but where do I find the brake code.. I mean there a like two or three different size rotors for the front so I need the code.

Also any thoughts on pads... with or without sensor wire? does it matter? My current ones must not have it because the wear is to the point I think it would have tripped it.

Default RE: Brake Question

is there a break code? the VIN should be enough or take the pads in and have them matched which is what I do on the older cars,
wire sensor for pad ware isn't that important on that age of car because most new pads dont come with it

Default RE: Brake Question

I haven' looked at the vin vet... i am going to luch here shortly and willbut I was told when looking at parts Rotors and such... 2001 A6Q 2.8 has 3 possibilities and there are brake codes such as 1LF 1LE etc.. hs to do with rotor diameter..
like I said I havent looked at the vin vet.. maye it is par of the vin... and engine code or something... but everyone refers to it as a brake code. I have the option for pads with wires and without... when it comes to sensor wires. I jsut didn't want to throw any warnings or errors if they wern't hooked up to the pads.
