brake rotor
Front brake rotor and pad are at the minimum. The local Audi dealer said 3mm remaining; cannot cut the rotor; have to replace pads and rotors on both front. So, usually they don't cut the Audi rotors?
$550 inc labor+tax. A bit pricy but not too bad. Any opinion please?

You can PM me your vin and I can price the OEM parts out for you. Turning rotors isn't done near as much as it ever used to be. I've heard and read in an effort to reduce unsprung weight rotors have been manufactured to be as light as possible. This doesn't allow room to cut them and have them be thick enough to not warp. Especially if you were to do a track day. Thinner rotors getting a track day workout are going to warp much sooner than uncut rotors due to the difference in thickness.

I'll share my experience. At 104k I replaced the rear rotors and pads, had the front rotors turned, and replaced the front pads. I always had a slight vibration from the front when applying the brakes -- it never got worse and never went away. They worked well until 181k when I had all four rotors and pads replaced due to wear. The vibration is gone. I just checked my bill and premium Centrix rotors and ceramic pads were $410 plus 1.5 hours labor. Labor will depend on your shop rate. There are cheaper rotors and pad sets out there, and you can buy slotted/drilled for more (I evaluated and decided against it). So your price does not seem out of line.
