Brake System problems
ORIGINAL: dubd012
Hey everyone,
I just gotThree questions about my 156,000mi 2001 audi a6
1. Are there rear brakes on a 2001 Audi A6?
2. On my dash, it shows a picture of a yellow circle with a parenthesis around it, (O) what does that mean?
3. For some reason, when my when I step on the brakes, it doesnt really stop all the way but does really slowly, the car only stops when the brake pedal is all the way to the floor, what could be the problem? Snipped ABS?
Thank you very much.

2. Pad wear indicator, most likely
3. ABS has nothing to do with your symptoms. Your pads are probably worn. You may also want to check the thickness of your rotors and make sure they are still within parameters.
When was the last time you had your brake fluid flushed? It is the most forgotten maintenance item and could very well be a culprit IN ADDITION to worn out pads and rotors.
