breather hose/check engine light (MIL)

Purchased a 2000 A6 this week. 105,000 miles on it. It idled rough. Upon further inspection of the engine I noticed that the plastic breather hose was broken in three places so I got one from dealership ($109) and replaced it. Now my Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) is on. Still idles rough. Any suggestions?

Has your timing belt been changed, just something to look into.

P0506 Idle Control System RPM Lower than Expected 16890 (who knows what that means)
