busted cats
i have an issue with my catalytic converter(s). i am pretty sure they are busted and burning; smelly, bad gas milege, underpowered, etc. so i think that is the issue and was curious about test pipes. i heard that with an audi you have check engine light problems. something about hte o2 sensor. my question is this, should i just put in new cats, or risk the test pipes. anything would be helpful. thanks d-

RE: busted cats
A car that is running excessivly rich will destroy cats quickly, so replacing cats may not fix your problem in the long run. If your cats are bad your check engine light should already be on. Removing them will definatly turn it on unless you get o2 simulators.

RE: busted cats
my plugs were black with white speckles, i heard that could be an indication of an engine running rich. any idea what could be causing that? i am going to put in high flow cats or test pipes and o2 sensors to get things running properly, at least then i have a better chance at diagnosing any other issues. d-
