My A6 stands a few hundred under 170k and I would not sell it for $5k. And it comes with a crabby, mean brunette. But while the maintenance book calls for TB at 105k, conventional wisdom says do it before 100k. I did mine at 95k. It's a gamble, but the downside is an interference engine where the valves hit the cylinder heads if the TB breaks or slips. I'm planning the next TB for 180k.

I just did mine on the 6'er at 106k. Comfortable with it, and ready for another hundred.

Sometimes the TB go 160K or more and sometimes they fail at 100K or less. Your taking a chance at anything over 90K. It is like the lottery! Sometimes you win and sometimes you loose. Increase your odds of winning. Loosing is no fun when the motor makes a bunch of clanking sounds and you need to dig deep for repairs.

As for the crabby brunette -- No thanks I am experiencing enough pain as it is and $5K is waaaay to much for 170K. LOL
