Default Cam Tensioner DIY Camshaft Tool?

I'm following this https://www.audiforums.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=101338 and I'm trying to unbolt the camshaft but don't know which tool fit it. Any information would be great.

Thanks all

Which bolts are confusing you? The camshaft cap bolts? They are a 12 point socket of some sort (I can't remember what size).

?? are you talking about the bolts for the cam? or the tool needed to hold the tensioner? the cam bolts are torx head I dont remember the size offhand and I made my own tool to hold the cam tensioner in place but it took some work. If your changing the tensioner out be very carefull about getting the cams lined back up - Bank two (passenger side) is pretty easy just make sure there are 16 links between the marks. Bank one (drivers side) is alot trickier though the mark on the intake cam falls on the top of a tooth so be sure to line up the 16th tooth to the right of the mark if you are standing in front of the car looking at the cams. If you line it up to the left of the tooth you will get a cel light because of an improbable cam position signal.

That is an Audi only tool called Cam Chain Tensioner Tool. You can buy one for about $20 on the internet.
