A check engine light diagnostic code for my 00 2.7T (108K miles) points to (2) camshaft sensors that need to be replaced. I was quoted $1500+ for this (non-dealer but factory authorized mechanic.)

Is that reasonable?

If I decide to go this route, meaning the top end is being taken apart, should I consider upgrading the camshafts and/or other parts?
