You're right, probably was the 3.2 cold engine missfire/rough idle syndrome. It's not realy sludge but carbon buildup on the intake valves. Because it's direct injection there's no fuel spraying on the valves to keep them clean, only air and (the cause of buildup) normal crankcase oil vapors. It's not any problem to worry about, not a longevity or reliabilty concern. Generally, you may notice what feels like a misfire on cold start. Usually lasts just a few seconds.

Otherwise, I see nothing in the warranty service that indicates the car ever had any major problems. Most appear to be more "nit-picky" things. Mystrodo's correct, and I missed it. Should have had the major 55K done.

I don't know any way to copy and paste the service history to here. Best thing you could do is, take the VIN to the dealer and have them bring it up for you and print it out. Any DECENT dealer will gladly provide that service. We get people in fairly often doing this very thing, checking on and Audi they are thinking of buying. If ti was also serviced at my dealership, all the customer pay work history is also provided.

Thanks for the info. I ended up buying it. Runs like a dream. How can I prevent the carbon buildup? I seen that you can do a seafoam treatment but its really hard on all the parts. Any ideaS?
