I have a 1997 A6 Wagon, and it is equipped with the Bose stereo (they might all be, but I'm new to this car, and company, so I don't know). It didn't have a CD changer installed when I bought the car, but I was wondering if any CD changer would work. I know the car was available with a factory CD changer, but will any aftermarket one work? Thanks for the help.

I was on E-bay and "was told" that this particular Changer would work; Panasonic 8 disc changer, model # CXDP880U. Anyway, I figure for $75 I would give it a try. The dealer wanted over $400. BTW, mine has a round femal 8 pin plug. Yours should have the same. That is, evidently the key unless you get the FM modulator which will give you FM quality, not CD quality.

I should get the changer and install it this weekend. I will try to remember to post my results...hopefully its a direct add-on!
