Changer troubles too.....
Hi -
The A6 I just bought didn't have a changer in the boot. This was annoying because it didn't have a CD player in the dash either, just the otherwise-adequate concert headunit. I managed to get a connects2 adapter, a long cable and a kenwood 6 disk changer. I plugged it all in, and the changer powers up, dutifully ejects and makes whirring-noises as it should. The headunit however, doesn't recognise it and doesn't let me select "cd" when I press mode.
In order for the changer to work, which wires need to be where? The situation has been further confused by a hands-free phone kit which was plugged into the back, but now no-longer is as it didn't work (was always on "telefon" mode). Are there some wires from the vertical (relative to the 4 horizontal) multi-plug in the back of the head unit that need to remain\be connected in order for it to work?
And what is the purpose of the plug coming from what seems to be the casing itself? Is it just an earth or does it serve some higher purpose?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

RE: Changer troubles too.....
I know this is an old thread, but I have the exact same problem. The changer powers up, but the head unit doesn't recognize it.
What does it mean for the radio to be coded? I tried putting in the radio code again, but it had no affect on the cd changer. I am using factory cd changer.
