OK, so i have an 05 a6 4.2l (c6) I know it uses the CAN version of diag. Has anyone been able to use VAG COM to connect to this car if not any other software suggestions?

I bought this cable of e-bay it is written on this cable VAG-K+CAN in red letters

I can get this thing to work but when i connect it to the car it states "no reply from controller"


Any help with this would be greatly appreciated

Check the Ross tech site -- Your software might not read Can version

 

That or you cable is crap, i know lot of folks that get them off E-bay the they don't work right off the bat.

 

Ross Tech actually states on their site that no aftermarket cables will work w/ their software on a CAN car. I highly doubt there is any aftermarket software out that will work on a CAN car w/ the exception of Ross Tech or a generic OBDII reader - which isn't going to tell you much.

Too bad you're so far away - I'd help you out. In the meantime, check out vagtoolfinder.com - I'm sure there is someone nearby
