changing oil
How hard is it to change the oil on a audi A6 by myself. I'm a first time owner
to an Audi and I am wondering if this is a reliable car and if many people have
problems with them. It is a Audi A6 2005 3.2 liter.

I can think of a handful of other cars that are a pain in the rear when comes to changing oil.
1) Pull off the underneath plastic protection panel (belly pan) - 7 fasteners (3 metal ones under the engine, and 4 plastic clips ->2 by each wheel well)
2) Locate the oil plug - a 26 metric on older cars; probably a smaller size on newer ones, and drain
3) Remove oil filter;
4) Fill the new filter 3/4 with oil and install it when oil dripping stops (can have 2 cold beers meantime)
5) Replace the drain plug
6) Pop up the hood; locate the oil filler cap and remove
7) Grab a funnel if you have a shaky hand; if you trust your hand, you don't need one although you have to negotiate carefully the tilt angle of the cylinder head when pouring
8) Fill her up with the oil of your choice; monitor the dipstick and don't overfill; supposedly the Audis don't like to be drenched in oil (although the many "leak" testimonials would vouch differently)
9) Replace the filler cap
10) Dispose apropriately of the old oil and filter; start her and check for leaks (filter and drain plug); replace the belly pan; Now you can take her for a spin to the nearest Baskin Robins; Culver's; DairyQ, etc and treat yourself with a large lemon ice cream cone
....oops, I forgot you had earlier 2 beers; postpone the ice cream trip for a different day
