For starters, I have a 2003 A6 2.7TT 6spd. About 135k miles. APR Stage 1.
Stock clutch/linkage as far as I can tell.

The ride into work this morning was fine, no issues at all. But, on my lunch break, I attempted to go get something to eat. The car no longer will go into reverse, at all. No matter if the car is on or off. It almost feels like its hitting a wall about halfway, and I am not comfortable forcing it at all, so that's where I stopped.
All the other gears are kind of rough now also, although downshifting into first is nearly impossible, but with the car off I can get into it fine.

No leaks apparent anywhere, and the linkage itself seems kinda loose, as I can move a decent distance side-to-side when it's in gear.

Any ideas? Not really a possibility to leave my car at work overnight, if I want it to be there in the AM. I plan on just taking it easy to get home, although I'll probably look like an idiot turning my car on & off at every red light I hit.

im having the same problem with my 04..i can still get it into gear but it is very loud and not as easy as it used to be in reverse and 1st. is your clutch pedal feeling a little sticky? also have you done a fluid change at all?

 

Clutch is definitely a little sticky, at times almost clunky. No, I haven't done a fluid change on it yet, on my list of things to do (although it def jumped up a few positions on said list ha). Just a little iffy on doing it after reading some horror stories of it freeing up loose junk and getting clogged elsewhere.
The most confusing part about the whole thing, on my end, is that this was a sudden issue. Car ran mint this morning, just as it has been the whole time I've owned it (about 6-7 months now). No signs at all.

 

yeah thats my dilemma as well. I was thinking about getting a fluid change but then i saw some horror stories. and we have the same issue mine just started out of nowhere as well. i woke up and my car drove like **** ever since

 

Mini-update... On my way home, I realized I was able to shift through all gears, reverse included, if I put the clutch as far as humanly possible to the floor... It was still a little rough, but no grinding or clunking of any sort... this is leading me more towards the clutch, correct me if I'm wrong?
I'm good at fixing most anything, provided I have tools & instructions, but horrible at diagnosing haha...
