Default Code p1857

ok car had some overheating ussues so replaced all the bs including timing belt, water pump rollers ,,etc..... a few times before i did the work it misired and would barley move and then it would run fine. did all the work and it's doing the same thing but will not run correctly at all. misfires , won't idle and won't go over twenty and the exhaust is blue-ish.
i've read people getting the 1857 code after battery disconnect (which iT was before and during the recent work). i've also read that somehow a bad MAF sensor could be to blame and throws this code. can anyone confirm this? i just can't contribute the misfire to f'n up the timing job because wouldn't i get error codes related to timing? the only code that i'm getting is the 1857 and the car does not run any different with the MAF sensor plugged in or out. I took it out and cleaned it and it's dated the year of the car 1998 a-6 2.8 qttr
any thoughts on my dilema?
thanks......

P1857 is a little tricky...it is a can-bus communication problem that could be a bad or wrong ECM, A problem in the TCM coding or a problem in the measuring value block...I hope you realize this is a dealer issue, just get it there....after you verify all the can bus connector condition and the battery condition.
P1545 is a throttle valve module malfunction.

yea...im going to take it to the dealer...but i thought P1545 was due to the battery being dead for so long. and now it just needs the dealer to reprogram it? Thats what i was told. so do you think i need a new throttle body and not a dealer reprogram or do i need both...thanx

Check the battery first, then then take it...there is no throttle body issue, it's the P1545 code that is the throttle valve module.

if you disconnect the battery for extended period of time, a throttle valve adaptation needs to be performed
