Default Coolant Hose at the rear of 2.8

Well I was driving home last night and about 2 blocks from the house, I see the temp gauge shoot up a gob of smoke shooting up the side of the car. Call me lucky (or unlucky) I was just able to coast to home with the car off. Anyways, I was not able to look in detail with my son in the car and all, but I think the leak is from the rear of the motor. I am sitting at work now thinking about it.

Anyways I know there is a return hose with CTS at the rear. Are there any other hoses back there that can cause a leak? And can I replace the hose(s) without pretty much taking out the intake and the throttle body? Any inputs appreciated.

Okay, I was able to look at it more closely, and seems like the heater hose blew. How hard is to replace the heater hoses? It may be a biatch to get to it...

I had a big leak repaired, it was the hose to the heater core... I was leaking in front & back! The front leak iirc was just the radiator though

heh you posted as I was posting...

I didn't do it myself, but I got the job done pretty cheap so I don't think it should cost too much... the hose itself iirc was about $30

Damn the love and hate relationship... I went to the local stealer and picked up the supply and return hoses for the heater core and a couple of gallons of g12 for $85 or so. I come home, start to dismentle practically the whole rear of the engine, then I break the breather hose. Not to mention miscellaneous brittle vacuum lines... I tell ya, I really don't get where Germans are getting their plastic and rubber parts. While they have the world's greatest rubber sex toys, they can't make **** for their car parts. So another trip to the stealer and another $100 later, not to mention busted up knockles, my POS is running great again...
