I have a 2000 A6 (2.7T) and believe I need to replace the coolant sensor (gauge reaches normal temperature level upon warmup, then falls back to cold within 5 minutes). Can anyone help me with the sensor's location/instructions for replacement?

I just had this done on my 2001 A6 2.7T w/55K miles. Cost $60 (inc. parts cost) to have dealer replace......
