coolant sensor

Default coolant sensor
I called to get a price on a GIAC chip and the guy said that i might need a new coolant sensor does anybody know if i need that or not? 2000 Audi a4 1.8t

You would not need it because of the chip...but they do go bad. It costs like $30 at the dealership or even less online and you can swap it out yourself in under 15 minutes.
