2001 A6 2.7T - will add it to my sig.

They replaced the sensor against the firewall in front of the battery. It's the one with the green plug, so I assume that's what everyone refers to as the coolant temperature sensor.

That seemed to fix my problem. It was nice not to get nickel-and-dimed over a $10 sensor after paying for the timing belt.

Yup that is the CTS. Cool that they fixed it for free.

Default coolant temperature

Hi
I have an Audi A4, 2.8 1999 model car. I noticed that the engine temperature needle stay's at C instead of being in the middle ie between C and H on the instrument panel. Also i noticed that the heater blows cold air. My car has a minor water pump leak. So i fill coolant once every 1000 miles. Is my problem ( Needle being at C) due to water pump leak or thermostat problem. The car has 133000 miles on it. Which one could be the best bet water pump or thermostat. I am trying know this so that i can plan my budget accordingly. I was told water pump replacement costs 1000 dollars and the thermostat around 100 dollars. Wanna take your advise before i spend even a penny on this car. Is it safe driving the car this way?
