Default Is the dealer charging too much? (brake hoses)

I took my 1995 A6 Quattro Wagon to the Audi dealer (New Country Audi in Greenwich, CT) to get some minor problems fixed (needed new front passenger window switch, rear cargo light, and front cieling control panel/light) and while they were checking it, they said that i needed to replace all four brake hoses. On the pricing sheet they gave me, they said that it would be $214.58 for the brake hoses and $528 for the labor. It may just be me, but that seems a bit rediculous. Is that a decent price, or am I right?

Also, if anyone could answer my question about asking the dealer to put a new BOSE system in my 95 car, that would be great...its my greater priority.

Thanks for the help,

Triguntz

That seems high to me. I just had new front rotors and pads for like 350(parts and labor). I always haggle with them...It's a car dealership and there is mark-up in everything they sell and will drop the price just like when you first purchased it.

That sounds like something that could be done somewhere other than the dealership. I would try finding an Audi specialist wherever you are at. It will be a lot cheaper. When I had my GTI, I took it to a place that worked on Audis and VW's and that's it. Small place and their prices were awesome. They were honest too. They are usually enthusiasts, like us.

Good Luck

Haha, stealerships, nice coining. Thanks for the tip. It just so happens I have a cousin not too far away who is an Audi specialist, so I can call him about it.
