DIY camshaft position sensor replacement 2.8L NEED PDF !!
Can anyone provide me with a link/pics/pdf of how to replace a camshaft position sensor in a 2001 a6 2.8L ?
Also, is there anyway to bypass the non-continuous monitors for smog reasons ? I have a p0345 on mine and the obdii shows a C and EV for non-continuous monitors flashing. Is there a way to get them to reset or remove them so that I can pass a smog ??
Installed new plugs, wires, and coil-packs which cleared all misfire codes and left the p0345. Once I clear that I'm good for smog. It passed all emissions with flying colors but won't pass the overall inspection because of the CEL.
Please help. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
Also what is the difference between the Camshaft Position Sensor and the Camshaft Position Sensor Replacement. The replacement is only $20 or so... and the CPS is around $80.
NEED HELP !!!

Clean the terminal to the sensor first.
Take a nail file and scratch the pins and a small pick to tighten the prongs inside the terminal plug.
If that doesn't work replace the sensor.
It's on the back of the drivers side head toward the top of the head facing the firewall. Remove the two bolts holding it in and install the new one. It's straight forward.
You will need to reset the cel via a Vag Com.
