Hey everybody, I just scanned the car today ('99 A6 2.8) to see the fault codes that came up due to a CEL and I got the following:

1 Fault Found:
17800 - Camshaft Position Sensor Bank 2 (G163): Open Short to Plus
P1392 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

I was betting on this being a faulty sensor that I could replace but now i'm not so sure. Anyone have any suggestions or a general area of where I could locate the sensor?

Also, I was a little surprised to find a Trans fault code:
00526 - Brake Light Switch-F
27-00 - Implausible Signal

Implausible signal also seems like a faulty switch...best bet just to replace it? Funny thing is all brake lights work fine and i've noticed no problems.

cam position sensor bank 2 is found: drivers side upper posterior of the engine. to gain access you may have to carefully move the water resavoire tank in the best way you can.
