RE: fault codes
I have had a 2000 A-6 4.2 for 5 years kicking the same P1423 or P 1411 codes.
Periodically I have replaced the old vacuum hoses which solved the problem for a very short period of time. Probably just the computer reloading the error but it took s few days or weeks to misfire or sense the exhaust issue.
I can only assume that the secondary air pump is now more likely the problem. I just replaced the vacuum hoses and failed emissions here in MD with the same codes. Hence my pump must be next logical problem.
My question is.... has anyone ever successfully repaired this problem with the newer braided hoses installed on the 2002 cars on a car like mine?
If I have to replace the pump I would like the hose issue solved at the same time.
I'm understanding that Audi has published a Technical Bulletin 01-03-08 describing the problem and the engineering weakness yet no recall or service offering has followed. Now thats ***** for ya. German customer service logic I guess.
Dealers have seen my car repeatedly with this issue yet no solution or description of the solution has been discovered until I read it myself on the internet.

RE: fault codes
secondary air valve solenoid, not sure if your warranty covers it though.
