Found two keys in drawer under seat - How do I get them to work?
I bought my used 06 A6 almost 3 years ago and the dealer whom I bought the car from said that when they originally received the car it didn't come with the two smart keys (the smart keys that allow me to press the engine start button without putting the key in the ignition). They made a new one for me at the time, however just a few days ago I noticed that there were drawers under the driver and passenger seats. I never noticed these before and when I opened them I was surprised to find the two original smart keys the dealer didnt notice when they received the car.
The question is how can I get them working? I tried putting them in the ignition however the car doesn't start when I turn the key. I checked the pattern on the keys and they are exactly the same as on my key that does work. Would only the dealer be able to program these keys?

The immobilizer codes for those 2 keys you found were written over when that single key was programmed in for your car. You'll have to get both programmed so they will start the car. Good news is the labor rate is the same to program two keys as it would be for only one key, at least it should be. Bring all 3 keys that you have with you to the dealer when you do this.

Hah I know... Well actually it was my wife's car until just a few weeks ago, that's why I never really paid attention to the details on the car until it became mine.
