Regarding the issue of the fuel gage. My wife completely drained the battery on our 2005 A6 3.2 one day. After jumping the car, the fuel gage showed completely empty despite it having 3/4 of a tank of gas. Day #3 after this problem, I filled up the gas tank full (just to make sure). After this I drove it around and the needle came off the peg and SLOWLY rose up to 100% full in a period of about 45 minutes of the car running. No issues since. Very strange...

Default Try using decent Diesel

I had this problem after filling up at a super-market. I switched to Murco and it started working again, then Shell was working for me for a few months although the unit has just stopped again, I do recall it first got triggered going up a very steep hill with a full tank. I am going to try some BP and let you know how I get on....
