I dont know a thing about chipping my car, never thought about it until the other this GTI wanted to see me, after the race, he asked me what I had done and I told him it was all stock.....he was chipped. I told him I didnt want to get chip cuz I have a warranty, he said the dealer cant detech the chip.....is this true?

Just got my 2001 2.7T last week. Searching for an extended warranty company now. My concern is the same a Cappachinoo's above. Will the average Audi mechanic be able to tell since that's where I'll likely take it to get serviced? I don't want them to give me any reason it to void the waranty.

With all that aside, other than putting in a chip, changing the diverter valves, and making sure I have good synthetic oil in, is there anything else I need to do? Is anything else just gravy? CAI maybe? How's the stock exhaust system? If nothing else is required to get the extra 70hp, this could be the best bang for your buck I've ever come across.

What are some of you "chippers" thoughts about new DPs for the turbos? Obivously with more HP the turbos will be running harder which means more heat. Heat is the enemy, so maybe a call to Vast Performance is recommended? Opinions?

My entire reluctance to add a chip is quite simple. This is my daily driver and I can't afford to send out my CPU for a few days to have a chip added. Are there other options besides taking a day off work and sitting by the front door waiting for the FedEx guy?

i'd recommend getting the REVOTechnik software. That's what i got installed (takes about 30 mins). I use the SPS3 unit to further modify the timing and boost.
I've also installed "Cooling Mist" Methonol injection to give me around another 40 - 50 HP in addition to the REVO 310HP.
I'll be doing Piggies next Monday/Tuesday.
Total bill for above mods is around $1500. I'm hoping to see 400HP - 425HP (Stage 3 territory)

(Not counting Labor for piggies - My labor is free 'cause of the new Stage II Clutch install on monday)

Cooling Mist Methonol injection?[sm=bangbang.gif]I am just curious how many stage 3 typemods our cars can take. I am nervous of my turbos going just rolling stock. All that said,APR or GIAC has been in the works for me since before I made the car purchase.

I'll do a Write up later tonight or tomorrow.
High level: If done right, and not too agressive, it is probably the best thing you can to prolong your engine life.
