I've searched and i haven't found this topic being covered.

I have a 2000 A6 2.7T and the hazard lights goes off at random time when it's parked. I've gotten to the point where I just leave the car unlock so the alarm (i think) doesn't go off and drain my battery.

Does anyone know of why this maybe happening?

Do you have access to a vag-com? Do you know if the alarm is going off? My 1st guess is a faulty hazard relay but that's just a guess as they are known to go back. But not known to cause your symptoms then they've gone bad.

A vag-com can tell you why your alarm was triggered if in fact is is being triggered.
