Default heating....

Hi guys. A friiend of my has a problem with his audi a6 4.2 quattro, when ever he presses the button to increase the fan speed on the climate control console, nothing happens. So before he brings it to a dealer, he wants to know what might be going on, so maybe he could fix it him self.

By the way my new A6 is great, runs great, love the tip tronic tranny,

thanks guys

also when the car runs for abt 5-10 mins, the heating gauge stays in the middle, like it normally would, so guys help us out over here, cuz the guy is freezing in it, has to drive 1995 honda civic, because of the heating problem, and he hates hondas

If nothing (hot/cold) is coming out of the vents then you have a bad blower motor. Possibly a bad blower motor resister/climate control unit. You could take the motor out and jump it to see if it works or hook up a multimeter and see if the motor is getting power.

^^^ that could def be it. hopefully it's just the blower motor, that's not too bad at all. there's a write up floating around on here somewhere on how to disassemble the thing, so who knows, maybe you guys could fix it yourselves if there's just something stuck in it. that's off course the simplest case.
