HELP!! A6 Transmission Gone
After a month of trying to get this damn car is running it now lives. Have not taken for long test drive yet but ran okay for 10 minutes. After changing the multifunction switch last week it threw the same codes. So I purchased a vag-com, used TCM and new Mass Air Sensor, totalling over $600, including the MFS and another $400 for the mechanic time. Installed used TCM and MAS this weekend and new codes came, but still did not work. One of the codes indicated no communication with the TCM, I suspected the TCM was no good as it heated up quite a bit and there was a loose part inside. Pulled the used TCM and re-installed my old one and same codes; bad MAF and Multifunction switch. So I decided to chase the wiring again not luck all looks fine. Topped of the fluid ...no luck. Then very late last night read on a forum to check the TCM relay. Started looking for it today and decided to trace it from the fuse panel. There it was in front of me A BLOWN TCM FUSE!!!!!!!!!. Now Im not sure if it was blown while changing the multifunction switch or blown from the start or when. Yes I don;t know when but changed it an no codes at all...great but I feel real dump. Check your fuse first!!!!!!!!!
i have a 2000 audi a6 2.8 quattro. im having some trouble with my transmission, driving forward is perfect but reversing not so much. it seems like my reverse doesnt catch until i lay the pedal to the floor. i changed my oil and did a transmission fluid flush with little improvement but not so much.
