Installed used TCM and MAS this weekend and new codes came, but still did not work. One of the codes indicated no communication with the TCM, I suspected the TCM was no good as it heated up quite a bit and there was a loose part inside. Pulled the used TCM and re-installed my old one and same codes; bad MAF and Multifunction switch. So I decided to chase the wiring again not luck all looks fine. Topped of the fluid ...no luck. Then very late last night read on a forum to check the TCM relay. Started looking for it today and decided to trace it from the fuse panel. There it was in front of me A BLOWN TCM FUSE!!!!!!!!!. Now Im not sure if it was blown while changing the multifunction switch or blown from the start or when. Yes I don;t know when but changed it an no codes at all...great but I feel real dump. Check your fuse first!!!!!!!!!
I am extremely new to my A6....bought a month ago....having a very similar issue, where is this TCM fuse found?
