Help with Sattelite radio options
I am at my wits end with this. I want to have sirius sattelite radio and Ipod capability in my wife's '03 Allroad with the Bose system. Being an '03 this car apparently should have a sttelite capable head unit but mine does not. The dealer said they can replace the head unit for 260(for one that has a "SAT" button). Hwever the Sattelite module is sepatate and $600+. Their recommendation was to go aftermarket. I tried but apparently their are issues running the bose system and according to most places no workable adapter is available. Others say they can do it but by the time you add all the adapters and special labor it gets up to around $800 to put in a $200 head unit. It seems there must be some reasonable solution. I would even be willing to run one of the external sat radio units if there were some clean and convenient way to mount the module. ANY suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks, George M.

RE: Help with Sattelite radio options
you have the cassette deck in that car right?
I did the el cheapo self install of one of the portable radios using the cassette adapter. You could switch the plug from sat to ipod as you wish and will not cost much at all.
This isn't the ideal installation, but it works and doesn't look too bad.
