HELP whats wrong with my 2.7t?
i just bought a 2000 a6 2.7t with the 6 speed manual transmission. the car is fast, but i wanted to unleash the engine's capabilities. i took my car to a local speed shop and had the REVO chip put in it. the car flew. it was so fast that i had trouble shifting from first to second and second to third because the torque threw me back so hard. when i got on the highway, however, it was a completely different story. past 4500 rpm, my car seemed to buck, even at 100+ mph. then, things really took a turn for the worst. yesterday, when accelerating, i felt absolutely NO power from 4500rpm to redline. the car gets louder but there is no power. every now and then, there is a slight semblance of power, accompanied with the bucking. i have no idea what is wrong with my car. i was thinking it might be a blown boost hose, shot intercooler on the second turbo, a problem with the chip, or (god forbid) a blown turbo.
input GREATLY appreciated.

i cant really help you much ith any diagnosis but when, or if, you find out whats wrong would you post your finfinds here. I've been contemplating getting the REVO chip for while now and i've only heard good things about it so i hope you have something else wrong. just my 2 cents, but i would pressure test the system before you spend a lot of money to have someone dive into it searching for a problem that may not be there. it could be as simple as a boost leak somewhere which would explain the lack of high RPM power. good luck

turns out it was the chip. i had the guy change it back to the stock setting and the problem disappeared. i knew that thing was too damn powerful. he says its because the stock intercoolers on the car are too small and the ECU was automatically cutting off boost. upgrade for $1500, i think not.

I'm glad it was just the software.
I find it odd though, that you weren't getting the boost temps low enough with the existing intercoolers. I haven't heard of this being an issue before on a chipped A6 using APR or GIAC software. Could they have given you the wrong flash, perhaps a stage 2 or 3 with too much boost?
