I put one on low beam this week. wasn't hard to do I just got one on ebay.
took about 30 min (only needed to cut hole on cover ) and works good. now I'm thinking about doing fog with yellow bulb as well.
don't think you need high beam with HID though.
I think you just need to pick the what bulb you ar using on your a6 mine has H1 on both low and fog.

any ideas where your going to mount the ballasts for the fogs? I know they are usually water proof, but seem like a difficult location to find

I haven't figure where to mount it, but more likely that it will be mounted on the actual bumper(metal part) I think that's prob the only way to mount to.
I'm probably ordering it in next few weeks for fog, so will let ya know how I did it then.

SO WHAT I'M GONNA DO IS: PUT LOW BEAMS AND FOGS, SEE HOW IT GOES, THAN IF IT GOES WELL THEN I LL PUT HIGHS TOO. TOTAL PROBABLY WILL BE LIKE 200 BUCKS OR SOMETHING, BUT I THINK ITS WORTH WORKING A WEEK FOR THAT STUFF,LOL, EVEN THOUGH I GOTTA WORK AFTER SCHOOL ANY WAYS, SO FAR I'M DOING HIDS, TINT, THINKING OF PUTTING NEONS UNDER THE HOOD, TRUNK AND INSIDE THE CAR, THAT WAY I WONT GET TICKET.
