Default High beams wont work..

I have a 96 Audi a6, the high beams wont work so I had someone look at it.
They told me that it was probly the switch on the steering colum. So I bought the part. Has any one done this before or can you give me some hints how to do this. Do you have pull the steering wheel?

Just an afterthought: have you checked the fuse for the High beams prior to ordering the switch?

Default No High beams - does the "visual horn" work?

If the switch is bad you should still be able to "light" your high beams by pulling back on your turn signal stock. This is the "visual horn" and on most cars it uses different contacts in the switch and a different power source. I think it DOES use the same wiring from the switch to the lights.

Just a troubleshooting idea.... I am not saying you should hold the switch as you drive!

Here's what you're looking for: Headlight switch replacement
