Okay soooo, after this most recent "field test", this is what I know. When locked the car, it would blink fast for ~ 7-10 blinks, then medium for ~ 60 blinks, then slowly. During this time, if I opened the door from the inside (window down) the alarm went off. My hand being inside right next to the door would not set the motion sensors off, but once I moved it closer to the dash it would set it off. And when I say set if off, I mean the lights flash, but the horn does not sound. Additionally, I tried to changed the motion sensor setting with the button on the B-pillar. It does not appear to be working. No matter how many times I press it, it does not light up and does not affect the outcome of the hand into the car when locked.

All that said, it would appear that the alarm is in fact ARMING fine, but is not ALARMING enough to deter anyone. With this information do you have any suggestions on where to go next? Is there potentially a fuse for that switch and the part that makes the horn honk (a long shot I know, but I've seen wackier things on these cars).

Thanks so far and in advance, JR

I don't know if there is a fuse for the honker. I would assume the horn died. It is odd your B pillar motion sensor disable switch doesn't work. You will know a little more when you hook it up to the vag-com.

Okay. Does the Vag-Camm do some kind of diagnostics as well? If not, what will I be looking for thru Vag-Comm?

The vag-com can do testing (although I can't help with that), as well as tell you in there are any faults with that system.
