Hot weather package?!?

Hot weather package?!?
I just heard of this the other day - apparently not nearly as popular as the cold weather package (which my car has....yes, in FL). Anyway, I've found the solar sunroofs on Ebay, but am curious to know what else was part of it? I heard some sort of fan that recirculated air and was powered by the sunroof? Where did it install, is the wiring already there, etc? I'd like to learn as much about this as possible, b/c I think it'd be a cool thing to try & retrofit into my car.

Well not that it helps you any, but the warm weather package also included sun shades in the rear window and the rear passenger windows like this:

I don't have much on the solar panel, so sorry!

Kevin - where is the fan? Is it just the blower motor for the a/c or is it a separate unit located someplace else? What exactly does it do? Does it pull fresh air in while the vehicle is sitting parked? Also, is your rear sunshade power? What about side ones? I'd LOVE to have that option.

It powers the blower motor through the solar sunroof, it just recirculates the air in the cabin. The rear sun shade is always powered. The side ones are manual only.
For you to install the sunshades you would have to replace both rear door panels and have the shades installed, maybe $2,000, and change the entire rear deck and add in the power rear sunshade, run the wiring and install the switch, maybe another $2,000.
You won't have the wiring or the solar sunroof, not to mention the entire sunroof track is completely different, the price to retrofit that would is beyond what i can imagine so im not even gonna try to guess it.

It sounds like you can spend about $4k for an inferior version of the OEM equipment, or...
1) Have someone tint your windows (couple $100)
2) Buy a solar-powered window fan for < $50 and stick it in a slightly open window
Same affect, much cheaper and much less cost.

Yeah, I'm planning on getting the windows tinted, but was still curious b/c like I said, I've never heard of a "warm weather package" until 2 days ago.
As for sunshade - is this the correct one?

Is that powered? If so, not a bad price - you know, considering it's a dealer / OEM part and all.
Also, the solar sunroofs are $400 on Ebay - just thought it'd be cool, but seems like a lot of work to just have a fan running.
Oh well, my intrigue is over - definitely not worth it

Thats for a C6 A6 2005+, and even then you are looking at 4 hours of installation which will total around $800.
You really won't need this if you put on window tint 20% or less. I would recommend 5% window tint on the rear windows, and if the laws are ok (or if you care) then tint the front windows 30%. That will allow you to still see through them at night.
