How to check power steering fluid level 2003 A6

Manual does not give instructions to check power steering fluid level. It says this should be done by dealer. I want to find out if fluid level is causing a low groaning sound in low speed steering.

isnt there a dip stick attached to the cap in the power steering case. on my 99 A6 its located on the right of the engine with a green cap usually. Underneath the cap is a dip stick with markings on it
