Unhappy I knew it would eventually be my turn ....HELP!

I knew it was too good to be true that i havent been having trouble with the car since i bought it like most of you have ( the typical problems). For a while when id turn the wheel after being parked, i noticed a subtle clunk as the wheel went from side to dead center to the other side (know what i mean?). now today as i was driving, the car felt "funny" overall, and then i heard it. As i went over bumps, on the right front and even a little towards the middle, a heavy rattling sound, as if really heavy metal objects were being rattled together. i also got a slight vibration in the gas pedal when this happened. idk if i was just paranoid but the steering felt a little more sensitive than usual also. Any advice as to what it could be? I just got my car back friday from the body shop and now this.

Sorry I don't have a clue.

It might be something the body shop did, they might have left a tool in the bellypan, or you have a bad tie rod end etc.

Check your tie rods for the steering (cheap to fix and DIY)- also check your control arms (expensive- kits run $400-$500 + labor)- they could be bad causing the vibrations

well i dismounted the wheel just before and i saw that the outer cv boot had grease on 2-3 rivets before the brake..meaning thats torn right? could it just be that, or more? i can dismount the wheel again and see if there is anything more if you guys tell me what to look for, but nothing else really seemed abnormal, just that one boot. the inner was fine. any help? i could get the parts and install them with my cousin. he knows more about cars than i do, im just good at following instructions. thanks.

You could have a bad balljoint or even wheel bearings. Jack the car up and shake the wheel to see if it moves abnormally.

Time to rebuild the front end. Search on "control arms" and/or "tie rod ends" for instructions. And, don't feel bad. WE've all had to do it or are going to have to do it.

I think you can get a complete control arm Kit from Force Five in Concord NH for less than 1/2 of what it costs from a dealer... At least that is what happened when I did a 1999 VW Passat front end...

ok i put the car on a lift and found out its the tie rod on both sides, the right was just a lot more f***** up than the left side, and i need left n right outter cv boots. shop that did the body work for me says theyd do it for $150 w/o parts and with a wheel alignment. sounds pretty good to me, what you think? and can you guys give me sites where i can find the parts for cheap? THanks
