I have a 2002 A6 3.0 non quatro and when i turn the ignition my dash lights up but the motor does not crank or turn over. i turn the key to turn off and pull the key out, and my dash lights stays on. not sure if its the ignition switch? or the electrical component of the ignition switch? please help!

I had the same issue and it turned out to be the ignitions switch.
