Hey Audifriends, I'm a total n00b and need some help. I just got my first A6 and i'm totally psyched is a 99 quattro. let me show you some pics... i hope you can see them...

my first order of business is to get the windows tinted.. easy enough.. just bring it in and get them tinted...

Then I want to get the grill blacked out with something like the LL Tek grills ( http://www.lltek.com/grills_A6.htm ).. are there any other recommendations?? anywhere to get smooth looking badges???

then I want to get smoked tail lights but I don't have 300 bucks to drop on LL Tek tail lights so I was thinking of a temporary fix like these ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/AUDI-...spagenameZWDVW )
has anyone used a product like this before??? do they work or are they just cheap pieces of crap??

and finally.. last question... can i get rid of the chrome trim around the windows?? or is the just a big pain??

Hello and welcome to the forums. You have got a nice looking car there and from what you are saying I gather that you are going for the whole 'bad ***' look with smoked tail lights and tinted windows and all. But I would start by losing those ugly mud flaps. They don't belong there on a black car with rims like those. Well, that is just my personal opinion, others may see it differently.

I purchased a set but haven't installed yet. The film is flat and needs to be streached to fit the curves, I am a little concerned how easy this will be.

 

you can buy a spray on tint called nite shades made by a company called VHT. search online for it. It is about $15 for the can, and it will tint the tail lights properly without costing a fortune. You will not get window film to fit your tail lights properly and without bubbles and wrinkles. The round shape makes it impossible. Consider that wasted money.

 

Thanks for the recommendation on that, does it fade over time or have you had a good experience?

Hey welcome to audi forums, i think instead of putting a llteck grill, y wont u just paint all the chrome on the grill matt black, and the fog light pieces also. Its gonna cost u about 20 bucks with the primer, clear coat, and paint. Also the car stays orignal and has a sick look. YOu should try that before u buy a whole new grill
